Hunter Houde and Brielle Friedman are New York’s newest, hottest Latin Dance couple. Since debuting together just six months ago, they’ve dazzled audiences with their high energy and dynamic choreography and won numerous competitions, including the 2019 World Salsa Summit in the Rising Star Divison. Hunter has been performing and teaching dance for over fourteen years.  He has diverse and extensive dance training including ballet and modern at Alvin Ailey (New York), Afro Cuban with Yesenia Selier (New Jersey), and Domingo Pau of the National Folkloric Dance Company of Cuba (Havana Cuba) and salsa and Latin dance with Anya Katsevman (New York).

Hunter is the former director of Global Rhythms, an Afro Cuban folkloric arts company, and Rumba Academy, an Afro Cuban dance school based in New Jersey. He is also a former member of Balmir Latin Dance Company where he and Brielle first met. Brielle began dancing in 2012 while earning a degree in International Relations and Creative Writing from Brown University. She has studied Latin dance under the direction of two-time world champions Anya Katesevman and Luis Aguilar and danced with Couture Dance Alliance (San Francisco) before joining Balmir Latin Dance (New York) in 2016. She’s also the founder of the editorial site Vitamin B (, which covers dance and lifestyle topics in an honest and relatable way and inspires others to pursue their dreams no matter how impossible they may feel.

Hunter and Brielle currently teach and perform regularly in New York City and at different events across the US and abroad each year.
